On the morning of March 19, 2025, the unveiling ceremony of the "Technology Demonstration Base" and "Co-creation Base", co-built by Baotou Huazi Industry Co., Ltd. and the Key Laboratory of Environmental Biotechnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was grandly held at Huazi Industry. In his speech, Shi Yan, Deputy District Mayor of Donghe District, stated that since the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Donghe District Party Committee and District Government have adhered to the orientation of focusing on "two news" (new industries and new formats), taken improving the technological innovation capability of enterprises as a key work, and strived to realize industrial chain upgrading, cultivation of new quality productive forces and green and low-carbon transformation through measures such as vigorously cultivating technological innovation subjects, deepening the integration of industry, university and research, improving the guarantee of technological innovation factors and optimizing the scientific and technological innovation business environment, so as to promote the high-quality development of the regional economy. In his speech, Hu Qing, Director of the Resource and Materials Research Center of the Xiong'an Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, emphasized that the demonstration base will focus on the industrial application of biotechnology and promote the transformation of scientific research achievements into productive forces. He particularly mentioned that Huazi Industry's profound accumulation in the field of traditional industries and its demand for green development have provided broad space for cooperation between the two parties.

Both parties conducted in-depth exchanges around the theme of "science and technology empowering local economy".
