Baotou Huazi Industry Co., Ltd., whose predecessor was Baotou Sugar Factory, was established in 1952 and put into operation in 1955. It is the earliest-built, largest-scale and most modern mainframe sugar factory in northern China since the founding of the People's Republic of China. As a key project during the "First Five-Year Plan" period, it was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on December 10, 1998, with a stock code of 600191, making it the only listed company in China's sugar beet industry.
