Huazi Industry has a profound historical connection with Baotou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College. In the early stage of its establishment in the 1950s, Huazi Industry (formerly Baotou Sugar Factory) was affiliated to the Ministry of Light Industry of the People's Republic of China and was then known as North China Sugar Factory. After its completion and commissioning in 1955, to meet the enterprise's talent needs, the Ministry of Light Industry built the predecessor of the current college— the Sugar Workers' Technical School of the Sugar and Wine Administration of the Ministry of Light Industry—next to Huazi Industry in 1956. Over the past decades, the two institutions have complemented each other and grown together.

At the negotiation meeting, General Manager Liu first extended a welcome to Secretary Zhang Bangjian and his delegation, and introduced to the participants the enterprise's strategic plan for transformation, upgrading and diversified development. He also provided an overview of the xanthan gum project, which the enterprise plans to complete and put into production in the second half of 2024, as well as the corresponding talent demand.
Secretary Zhang Bangjian expressed his gratitude for being invited to the meeting. He elaborated on the professional settings of the Department of Food and Bioengineering of the college, noting that the college has considerable teaching strength in food production-related majors. It has tailored training programs for two xanthan gum enterprises and delivered a large number of professional and technical talents, which are highly aligned with Huazi Industry's future talent needs.
After the meeting, Secretary Zhang Bangjian and his delegation visited the construction site of the enterprise's xanthan gum project.
